Please note that the Open Class Fine Arts Division has different requirements for entries than the 4H division.

Please note these changes before you enter your work, and follow the guidelines for the Open Class Division.

Please double check your entries!! Please check divisions, classes and all entries. Any entry that is not properly mounted, entered in the improper category or class, not ready to hang with wire, or with saw-tooth hangers, or improperly tagged, will be disqualified from judging. NOTE- Saw-tooth hangers are NOT allowed.

Please print out a list of your entries and bring with you to check in, and bring it back with you when you come back to collect your entries at check-out time.

Due care will be exercised in handling each exhibit. The Lancaster County Agricultural Society is not responsible for articles lost, damaged or stolen. Fragile work and extremely large pieces should not be entered.

No entries will be released before specific time. If you are unable to pick up your exhibit at the release time, it is your responsibility to find someone to do so. Any items remaining after noon on Sunday will be disposed of immediately.

PREMIUM PAYOUTS will only be paid during the release times at the Premium Payout Station. No payouts will be paid at any other time. If you do not collect your premiums during these times, you will forfeit your winnings!

At superintendent’s and/or judge’s discretion, classes with few entries may be combined with others, and classes with an overly large number of entries may be subdivided. Judging is merit-based. At judge’s discretion, not all placings will be awarded if exhibits do not merit placing.

Adult Division
Two-dimensional Artwork - Work by adults must be framed with wire and eye hooks, NO SAW-TOOTH HANGERS.

Youth Division

There are four divisions open to youth (ages 5 & under, ages 6-9, ages 10-13 and ages 14-18 (by January 1st of the current year). Paintings, drawings, prints, 2-D mosaics or collages, and computer art MUST BE SECURELY MOUNTED ONTO WHITE POSTER BOARD or FOAM CORE (entry tag will be attached to the viewer’s lower, right-hand side—taped to back of exhibit.) Leave a 1 to 2 inch border of white poster board around the work. This allows the piece to hang without harming the art work. Entry should NOT EXCEED 12 x 18 inches in size. No frames, glass, or saw tooth hangers in the Youth Division please. Just a note for the Youth Division- You may enter items from School Projects, School Art Classes or Shop Classes. If it matches a class description you may enter it in that class in your corresponding age group if you follow the entry rules and guidelines.
